The new year will be here before we know it. Most people make “resolutions” on what they want to change or do differently in the new year. I do have my own goal, which is to continue to declutter this house, and to organize. Both will help me mentally as well.
I did some organizing this past week as I looked for my yo-yo maker. Two days, many things got put where they belong, but I sure didn’t find the yo-yo maker. Go figure.
I see this post last week in the linky. Kim made trivets with bottle caps. How cool! We drink a lot of soda. All I had to do to get the first one made was go take the caps off the soda bottles in the recycle bin. I later found that she made hers with metal caps (I don’t even know where you get those), where mine is made with plastic.
I put felt on the top of each cap. Since I couldn’t find my yo-yo maker I just cut circles, stitched largely around and pulled to cover the caps. Stitched these together and glued felt to the back as well. Once you have all the supplies, this is a really quick craft. And, as Kim said, will make good gifts.
I worked at least a bit every day on the lockerhook rug. When I look at last week’s picture in my files, I see a big difference. I hope to continue to at least work on it a bit each day of the week.
January 2nd should be when I move in to the little house to babysit. As of right now I have no couch or bed to sleep on. I’m in the process of starting to make a crocheted plarn bed roll for the bottom of a pallet on the floor just in case. If something comes up, I will have the bed roll to either donate or to put in my booth.
To do this next week:
- Finish packing and get to the little house.
- Make the plarn bed roll
- Work on the lockerhook rug a little each day.

Ohh cute trivet. Metal caps come on beer! You need to find a beer drinker.
Happy New Year!
