Those of you that know me know that I have been very blessed with craft and sewing supplies being given to me. Someone cleans out their sewing room and give me their “scraps”…..someone cleans out theirs and thinks of me and something I make. A couple of times items have been donated to the sewing classes at the senior center, but they weren’t materials they could use.
Recently a friend approached me and said they had gotten in this big roll of fabric into the center. They didn’t want it. She thought of me and my rug making, and if I wanted it, it was mine. I did pick it up. She was not kidding when she said big roll. I should be able to make at least 6 rugs out of this, if not more.
I would also like to share a picture that has been in my WIP Wednesday post. This quilt top is made entirely of fabric that was given to me when a kind friend cleaned out her sewing room. And, there is even fabric left over!
I am one who rarely buys any of my supplies new. If it’s not given to me, I have found many great deals at thrift stores, yard sales and estate sales.
As I said in the beginning, I am very blessed, and very thankful for those who think of me, and all of the supplies that I have gotten. I have enough to keep me busy for many years……my hands are never idle.
