It’s yard sale season and that means getting good deals! If you are looking for some specific items, yard sales (estate sales, etc) are the way to go to buy items way below their original selling price.
Of course, there is a down side. That would be buying too many items that you don’t really need or even want. I used to be one of those that thought if I stopped at a sale, I needed to find even something for a dime to buy. I’ve gotten past that!
This season I am on the look out for specific items. That would be summer dresses, certain fabrics, a hall tree, and a portable bed. Not that I won’t pick up other items.
This past weekend I went to 4 sales. I bought from 2. I bought the summer dress for $2 at one sale. I bought the 3 skeins of yarn and netting at another sale for a total of $1.60. (I plan to make crocheted hot pads with matching plastic canvas coasters with the yarn, and a couple of crochet dish scrubbies with the netting.)
This afternoon I stopped at a yard sale on the way home. I found this beauty for just $2!!! Did I need the horse? No, but my 1, 2 and 3 yr old grandbabies will enjoy it a lot! Could you have passed it up for such a low price?
At the same sale my daughter looked for clothing for work. She filled a bag for $5. Once home many of the items still had tags on them with prices well over $100 each.
