I got a request. I will write more about that later in the post with a picture. This request is top priority for me right now. I didn’t get any more work done on the hand sewn quilt.
I made this my list last week:
- Get out the UFO quilt tops. Find fabric for a border on the one, and sew it on.–Done
- Work as I can to get the last blocks made on the hand sewn quilt top and sew more sections together.–No
- Get more things looked through in my sewing room at home as well as get the other tote of my mother’s things looked through.–Neither of these done, but did get some things looked thru and some things added to the donation bag.

I got the quilt tops out. I actually had forgotten that I did get a border on one of them. On the other, I chose brown for the border since the rick rack is brown. I also got the backing ready to sew for this one.

Now for that request. We have a birthday party coming up on the 7th for a great granddaughter, Azalea. She will be 4. Mommy told me that she loves to play dress up and asked if I could crochet her a dress for her birthday. Ok…… I have plenty of yarn. I am not using a pattern, making it up as I go, but now I am worrying that it’s not going to be big enough. Wish me luck on that!

As for this next week, I hope to:
- finish the crocheted dress
- Make the last 3 blocks on the hand sewn top.
- Sew the backing for the rick rack quilt
- Clean off my desk to be ready to sandwich quilts.

Sometimes progress is all we get for a given week, but that’s still all good. Fingers crossed the dress comes together in the end.
Love that quilt with the Rick rack Marsha. What fun to get a request for a dress for a sweet little one. Thank you for sharing on To Do Tuesday. Hope you got the dress finished and it fits!
I agree! How fun that mommy asked for a dress for her daughter. Yarn can stretch a bit so I think you have some leeway. You could ask mom to measure her to be sure before you go much further. But either way, the dress so far is so pretty! She’s going to love it.
