I had some good titles in my mind, get in front of the laptop and couldn’t remember them.
It’s been a couple weeks, maybe even 3 weeks, since my last post. I was so busy with the holiday, both activities and getting my gifts done. I am really in hopes that 2026 brings me doing more than just this weekly post on my blog.
I had this list in my last post:
- Finish the last 4 fabric gift bags.–of course these are finished.
- Fill the gift bags as I can.–this as well.
- Get materials ready for other gifts I want to make.–this too, read more below.
- At least 4 more blocks made for the hand sewn quilt.–done

I have lost the little bag of my mom’s ashes!! I have looked everywhere I could think of. Why would they not be in the bag that I take back and forth from home and Inman?? I got mom’s sweater cut, got the Grandma Donna embroidered piece sewn on to each one, pinned to be sewn……then went to get the bag of ashes out. So much for those being part of what I was giving to some.
I brought 2 1/2 inch squares home with me while home for these 2 weeks. I thought I would do more of the hand sewing here. I ended up deciding that is a little house project. I’ve been working on plastic canvas blocks instead, and finally getting pictures for eBay listings.
Here is where I left the hand sewn quilt top. I will need to make at least one more row, if not 2, to make it a decent size.

I had this picture ready to show all of the fabric gift bags done and mostly filled. We had our family gathering on the 27th so I was able to go to the store on the 26th and get the rest of my candy for half price.

I am not even sure I want to make a list to be done with by next Wednesday. At the house we are cleaning each day. I will be here thru Sunday, then back to Inman for babysitting. Oh, let’s see.
- Start the minimalist challenge. Jan 1st get rid of 1 item, Jan. 2nd, 2 items etc etc.
- Really get back to listing an item on eBay daily.
- Settle back into my “normal” routine.
- Sew on the hand sewn quilt.

Marsha I’m impressed at how much you got done over the holidays. Your bags are impressive and your hand stitched blocks are beautiful. I love scrappy projects and the fact you are hand sewing it amazes me! Thank you for sharing on To Do Tuesday. Happy New Year 🥳 Carol
