Despite a big hiccup, I made progress this week. More on the hiccup later in my post. In the meantime, here is what I put on my to-do list last week:
- Work on the plarn bags. –cut more bags
- Keep filling in plastic canvas squares for more blocks. –got all of the blue blocks filled
- Sew the x’s on the flannel squares. –done plus a bit more
- Finish the jigsaw puzzle when at home for the weekend.–done!

Let’s start with the jigsaw puzzle. There is a piece missing and since there were no notes on the box I don’t know if I dropped it or if it was already missing. I looked under the table and desk and in the bags around but didn’t find the piece.

Once I finished the puzzle I got out a trivet to work on. I got a start on this one while camping. I placed it on top of a finished one to show the size. I hope to make a lot of these to put in my eBay store. They aren’t quick to make though.

I did get the x’s sewn on the green flannel and then went on and got the first 2 rows sewn and clipped. Much smarter to clip as you go than to wait until the end as I did on the last one (and still have not finished clipping that one)

Lastly, I did find some yellow at home. I really didn’t want to miss yellow since it’s my favorite color and the color for August in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Here is where the hiccup occurred as well. I was sewing along then blacked out. I got myself to the couch but my heart was pounding out of my chest. I called 9-1-1. Very scary. My heart rate was in the 240’s and stayed there for quite some time. I got my first ever ambulance ride. Thank the good Lord it wasn’t a heart attack, but not sure what caused it other than maybe my anxiety issues. I see a Dr. today for post ER visit and go from there.

For this next week I have a short list:
- Work on the trivet while at home.
- Finish the flannel rag quilt.

I’m so sorry you experienced that heart episode, Marsha – I imagine that was really scary. I’m glad the EMS people took good care of you. My blood pressure was super high at the dentist last week – lots of anxiety there, too. Your trivets are so interesting – they look relaxing to make!
