My my……My last post was at the beginning of the month and now I am finally posting again at the end of the month. I just have not had the motivation to work on sewing or crafts. My worries have been other places……earning money to pay for this new laptop. Strangely this make no sense because I should be sewing and making to put items up for sale on eBay as part of that earning.
Listing on eBay is also something I’ve not done for a few weeks. Fortunately I have still had a few sales though.
Let’s see about the list I made back on the 1st of the month:
- Finish the gray plarn bag.—once I actually started working on things, I found that I still need quite a few more gray plastic bags to actually finish this.
- Really really remember to take pictures of those rugs. — I did remember, and actually had the pictures ready for the July 8th blog that I didn’t write.
- Finish the current rag quilt. —I did not. I didn’t, and still don’t, have the proper scissors here for the clipping.
- Cut squares for another rag quilt. —I got the pile out to cut, does that count?
- RSC color for July is aqua, at least look to see if I have enough to make some blocks.–totally decided not to do this. I hope August color of the month is one I can work with.

I literally did not work on any type of crafts for 2 weeks. Last week I decided I should get something worked on, I got out the gray plarn bag thinking, of course, that the bags I gathered from the Fair Priced Clothing Store would be enough to finish it. Well, it was not. Now it’s to the side until I run across more gray bags. I started working on another plarn bag. This one I had put 8 white bags of strips then a colored bag of strips, alternating. Again, I’ve not gotten near as far as I thought I could with what I had cut. It also has to be put to the side until I cut more bags, and come up with some other colors of bags beside the normal yellow and brown.

Here are the 2 t-shirt rugs that I finger crocheted. One on my side of the bed and the other is in front of the dresser. Both of these are made with t-shirt yarn. I didn’t know they even made such a thing, but a friend gave me skeins of it.

Since I link up with blogs that have to do with quilting, or at least sewing, I decided I better get some sewing done. I got out the pile of the memory pillows that I am making in memory of my mom. These are long overdue as most of you know, she passed away the week before Christmas 2024. They are made from the sweater she wore in the casket for her funeral…….and, they are not easy to work with as it’s a knitted sweater. Also, as most of you know, I started working on these to be given at Christmas 2025 to family members, then lost mom’s ashes. Sheesh. Now the ashes have been found for a few months, but there they have sat to be worked on. I still need to fill the little zipper bags with ashes and stuff them……and the last hard part, actually sewing them closed.

Let me make a list of the things that should be done by this time next week:
- Cut more bags for the latest plarn bag.
- Finish the memory pillows
- Finish the rag lap quilt
- Cut squares for the next rag quilt.
That seems like a very reasonable list to me.

Some times the sewing room just doesn’t have any appeal, but you did make progress on several projects. Hope August is better on the sewing mojo front.
