I had so much fun the week of Spring break. It felt like the vacation that was much needed. Four days of quilt retreat topped the list, of course. I went down to the quilt shop each day and bought something. Shopping is always therapeutic lol. I got a lot done, had a great time visiting with quilting friends, and had lots of good food too.
My week also included an oil change for the van, and attending the health fair and women’s show. I did some shopping at the women’s show too. So much fun. We also drove to Florence, KS for church Sunday morning. My brother preaches there once a month. After church we ate at the cafe. More good food!
Now I am in hopes of getting back to what I call my normal routine. I get back to it, then a week or so into it something happens that throw me all out of it. So far this week, so good.
My to-do list from 2 week’s ago:
- Relax and enjoy myself at the retreat! DONE!!
- Cut white plastic bags while I am home during Spring break. done…..cut well over 300 bags.
- Give the boys lots of love.–spent some nice time having them overnight. Can’t wait to spend more time with them this evening.

What did I not get done? I didn’t motivate myself to get any more of the yellow yo-yo’s done. One thing is that I am wanting to do a quilt top with yellows. I’m hoping what I have left in scraps and a 1/2 yard I bought in the clearance section at the quilt shop will be enough for what I need.
I came home Wednesday evening from the retreat and was going to write a short post. I got sidetracked and it didn’t get done. I will share now what I was going to share then.
First, a puzzle that I did in between cutting bags.

2nd, I had finished these blocks. I put them up on the design wall sort of how I wanted to sew them together.

I couldn’t hardly wait to get back here to the little house to work more on the plarn bags. Two of my sewing friends gave me gray, yellow and black bags. Plus I have all the white bags that I cut. The yellow bag is getting really close to being done. The gray bag still has a way to go. The white and black is stuck now until I find a few more black bags. Next I’m starting on a blue and white bag.

I found a great matching fabric for the green and flower blocks in the clearance section at the quilt shop. I went right to starting on a row. I got the row done and put on the top piece, that was intended to be border. Once I pressed that section, I realized that would make a great table runner. I changed my mind and decided that the blocks will turn into 12 table runners. I found the pink in the clearance section as well for the 4 different pink blocks. At home I had yardage with flowers that match the pink in the other blocks. A sewing I did go!

What would I like to get done this next week?
- Start working on the boys’ coloring bags
- Work on the plarn bags
- sandwich table runners
- List 1 item each day on eBay
- Cut batting and fabrics for microwave cozies

Looks like you found what you needed at the quilt shop to finish up a few projects and those off your UFO list. Good luck with this week’s to do list.
Love those blocks! You’ve made great progress checking things off your list. Have a good week! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
